You Deserve to Unleash Your Strength, Fortitude, and the Life You are Meant to be Living.
Avoiding uncomfortable emotions is a human phenomenon—it prevents us from acting from our values, reaching our goals, and living the life we want. In this insightful talk, anxiety expert Michelle Maidenberg unpacks what causes emotional avoidance and shows us what we need to do in order to effectively overcome it to facilitate conscious awareness for overall well-being.
Overeating is an overwhelming issue for many kids and teens today. As a therapist and health advocate, Dr. Michelle P. Maidenberg knows that it is a complex issue that requires both the consideration of “mind” and “body.” The key and missing link which isn’t adequately considered and addressed is the psychological and emotional hurdles that get in the way of facilitating effective lifelong change.
Michelle P. Maidenberg, Ph.D., MPH, LCSW-R
Dr Maidenberg maintains a private practice in Harrison, NY where she specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Structural Family Therapy, Mindfulness, and Polyvagal Theory.
Through evidence-based practices, I empower individuals (children, adolescents, teens, and adults), couples and families to gain self-awareness, identify personal values, cultivate self-acceptance, and take effective action to build self-belief, self-compassion, and lifelong healthful behavior change.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
I use a set of standardized protocols using bilateral stimulation (i.e., eye movements, audio, buzzers, etc.) to help relieve many types of psychological stress and/or trauma.
Utilizing varied mindfulness practices, I assist in facilitating greater self and present moment awareness, equanimity, and improved attention, concentration and mental clarity for improved health and well-being.
I provide guidance for working directly on the autonomic activation of the nervous system to help build safety, connection, and resilience to enhance personal growth and improve interpersonal relationships.
